The German version is legally binding.

In short: no cookies, no tracking, and what you enter in the tools stays in your browser – unless you explicitly request product information in the reader or use the network tools, which query via our server.

This statement is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. Fonts and all other files come from our own server, not from third parties.

We will update this statement before we introduce new services such as advertising or statistics.

Server logs

Like every web server, our server logs every request with technical information, in particular IP address, date and time, requested address and browser identifier. We use this information only for operating the website and to prevent misuse.

Your content stays in your browser

Texts, images, PDF files and the camera image that you use in the tools are processed only locally in your browser and never sent to our server. Exceptions are the product information in the reader and the network tools (see below).

The camera is only switched on if you explicitly click to do so and allow it in your browser.

Product information (Open Food Facts)

If, after scanning an EAN or UPC code in the reader, you click “Get product information”, your browser sends this number to our server. The server uses it to query the open database Open Food Facts (an association based in France). Only the number is sent there, not your IP address and no other information about your browser; the product image is also fetched by our server.

Our server caches responses and images (products up to 7 days, images up to 30 days), without any link to you. To prevent misuse, it counts the requests per IP address; for this it stores the IP address only as a hash and deletes entries older than 2 days at the next clean-up.

Network tools (IP, DNS, email, SSL, headers, Whois)

For DNS lookup, email security, SSL certificate, HTTP headers and domain Whois, your browser sends the domain or address you entered to our server. The server uses it to query DNS, the website being checked or the responsible registry (RDAP); it does not pass on your IP address or information about your browser. It caches results for a few minutes (registry data up to 1 hour), without any link to you.

“My IP address” shows the address that our server sees anyway. For reverse DNS and network operator, it queries DNS and the responsible registry (e.g. RIPE NCC); only the network (the first three groups of numbers or a /48) is sent there, not your exact address. To prevent misuse, the server counts the requests per IP address, stored only as a hash as above.

Hosting

The website is operated in Switzerland, on Microsoft Azure in the Switzerland North region.

The link to Wannja only contains information about which droppy24 page it was clicked on, no information about you personally. On wannja.ch, Wannja’s privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You can request information about your data and request its correction or deletion. To do so, write to the address given above.
