Which files do I need?
Put all files from the ZIP in the root directory of your website and add the HTML code to the <head> of every page. favicon.ico covers older browsers, the PNG files and site.webmanifest cover phones and tablets.
Why does the Apple touch icon always have a background?
iPhone and iPad fill transparent areas with black and round the corners themselves. That’s why apple-touch-icon.png always gets the background colour, and white for an image without a background.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The icons are created in your browser, including the ZIP. An SVG is converted to PNG in the process.
