Read QR codes and barcodes
With the camera or from an image. Nothing is uploaded: the image stays in your browser.
The reader could not be loaded. Please reload the page.
How it works
Start the camera: hold the code steady inside the frame. The browser first asks whether the page may use the camera.
Choose an image: a photo or screenshot containing the code. On a computer you can also drag it here or paste it with Ctrl+V (Mac: Cmd+V).
Result
The content of the code will appear here.
Frequently asked questions
Are images or the camera feed uploaded?
No. The camera and images are analysed in your browser and never sent to our server.
What happens with “Get product info”?
Only if you click it for an EAN or UPC code does your browser send this number to our server, which uses it to query Open Food Facts. Only the number goes there, not your IP address.
The camera doesn’t recognise the code. What can I do?
Add more light, hold the code steady and not too close, and switch on the torch if needed. Or take a photo of the code and open it with “Choose image”.
Is a scanned link safe?
You can’t tell from the code. That’s why the reader shows where a link leads and only opens it when you want. Check the address first.
