Frequently asked questions
Can I open a PDF without the password?
No. If a PDF is protected with a password for opening, you need that password. Only pure restrictions on printing and copying can be lifted without a password.
Am I allowed to remove the protection?
For your own files, yes, e.g. if you want to file a bank statement PDF without a password. For other people’s files, only with the consent of the rights holders.
Is the PDF or the password uploaded?
No. Unlocking happens in your browser, file and password never leave your device.
