Frequently asked questions

How do I reverse a discount?

By dividing, not by adding: 80 francs after a 20 % discount was 80 ÷ 0.8 = 100 francs. 80 plus 20 % would only give 96. The “Original value” calculator does this for you.

Percent or percentage points?

If an interest rate rises from 2 % to 3 %, that is one percentage point more, but 50 % more. The “Change” calculator shows the second figure.

How do I enter numbers?

However you’re used to: 1’234.50, 1'234.50, 1234,50 or 1 234.5. Both point and comma count as the decimal separator.
