Frequently asked questions
Why does Excel show umlauts incorrectly?
Excel often reads CSV files without a marker in the wrong character set. Leave “Mark for Excel” switched on, then Excel recognises UTF-8 and shows ä, ö and ü correctly.
Are postcodes and numbers with leading zeros kept?
Yes. Values with a leading zero like 0041 or 00123 stay text. Only unambiguous numbers like 12.50 are taken as numbers, and this can be switched off.
