Frequently asked questions
Is the end day counted?
Not by default: from 19 to 20 October is one day. Tick “Include end day” if both days should count, e.g. for days of holiday.
Which public holidays are deducted?
If you choose a canton, the public holidays that are treated like Sundays throughout the canton don’t count as working days (SECO list, as on the page “Public holidays by canton”). Days that only apply in parts of the canton remain working days.
How are months calculated?
As in the calendar: 19 October plus one month is 19 November. If the day doesn’t exist in the target month, the last day applies: 31 January plus one month is 28 February, or the 29th in a leap year.
