Is my file uploaded?
No. The checksum is calculated in your browser, the file never leaves your device.
Why are MD5 and SHA-1 only good as checksums?
Collisions are known for both: two different files can have the same value. They still help against transmission errors; for security, use SHA-256 or longer.
How do I verify a download?
Choose the file and paste the checksum from the download page into “Expected value”. The tool shows whether it matches and with which algorithm.
